Robert and Donna Ferringer Built a Legacy of Giving
Robert and Donna Ferringer were modest and kindhearted people who worked hard and cared deeply about their neighbors and the community. Robert spent his career as a math teacher at the Wattsburg School District, while Donna worked as a stay-at-home mom to their four children (Susan, Robert Jr, Jeffrey, Steven) before she began working as an aide at the Union City Area School District.
According to their children, Robert and Donna’s involvement in the community, work ethic, and commitment to giving back inspired them to establish a legacy fund to honor their parents and their family. “By creating this permanent fund with the Foundation, we have the opportunity to make a difference during our lifetime and, at the same time, provide for this community we care about for generations to come,” said Jeff Ferringer. “As needs, opportunities and the nonprofits that address them change over time, our family can provide grants that continue to make life better in the name of the Ferringer Family Fund.”
The Ferringer Family Fund will not only benefit the Union City community but also inspire others to give back. “I hope this fund we started to honor our parents who taught us that we should think of others as much as we think of ourselves will inspire future generations of our family,” said Steve Ferringer.
